Tips for a Voice Chat Moderator

🎤 Tips for a Voice Chat Moderator

1.Welcome everyone

“Hi everyone, welcome to our voice chat!”
“Nice to see you all here.”

2. Start with a simple topic

“Today, let's talk about our hobbies.”
“What do you usually do in your free time?”

3. Encourage quiet members

“What about you?”
“Would you like to share your opinion?”
“Feel free to speak. Don't be shy.”

4. Keep the conversation moving

Ask follow-up questions.
“Why do you like it?”
“Can you tell us more about that?”
“What do you think about this?”

5. Give everyone a chance to speak

Don't let one person dominate the conversation.
“Let's give someone else a chance to speak.”

6. If the conversation becomes quiet

“Okay, let me ask another question.”
“Does anyone have another opinion?”
“Who would like to speak next?”

7. If someone makes a mistake

Don't embarrass them.
Say: “That's okay. Keep trying!”
You can correct important mistakes politely.

8. Keep the group respectful

“Please respect everyone's opinion.”
“Let's keep the conversation friendly and respectful.”

9. If you are nervous

Prepare 3–5 questions before starting.
You don't need to speak perfect English. Your job is to keep the conversation going.

10. End the session clearly

“Thank you everyone for joining!”
“It was nice talking with you.”
“See you in the next voice chat!”

Most important: As a moderator, you don't need to be the best English speaker. Your main job is to create opportunities for everyone to speak.
